EVMI® 104: CAEVM™ Certified Associate In Earned Value Management™ Credential Certification and Program Description:         

ABOUT CAEVM™:

 

The Certified Associate In Earned Value Management™ CAEVM™ credential certification program is a project management and earned value management skills and competencies building program designed to develop the basic knowledge base of project personnel in the application of project management and earned value management theory utilized on projects. Numerous practical examples, case studies and best practices are used throughout this program. Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to Develop Project Plans, Develop Work Break Down Structures (WBS), Understand Project Scheduling Techniques and Identify Network Paths; Identify Different Organizational Structures & Types, Stakeholder Responsibilities & Roles; Implement Risk Management, Quality Assurance & Earned Value. Effective Project Management and Earned Value Management (EVM) is essential to the successful delivery and rollout of any project on time, within budget and within technical scope.

 

CAEVM™ PROGRAM DURATION:

 

Three (3) Days

 

EXAMINATION:

 

At the end of day three, participants will take a 2 hour examination based on one hundred (100) questions. You need to have a score of eighty percent (80%) to pass and attain the Certified Associate In Earned Value Management™ CAEVM™ credential certification. You are expected to complete solutions to a number of case studies.

 

CAEVM™ PDUs:

 

Participants will need to complete 48 Professional Development Units (PDUS) over a three year period to maintain the CAEVM™.

 

EVMI® 104 AND OTHER PROGRAMS:

 

EVMI® 104 Certified Associate In Earned Value Management™ CAEVM™ is a prerequisite for EVMI®201: Earned Value Management Professional® EVMP® Credential Certification; EVMI® 202 Bachelor's Certificate in Project Management™, BCPM™; and EVMI® 203 Risk & Quality Management Professional®, RQMP®.

 

THIS CLASS WILL ENABLE YOU:

 

Implement responsible project management. Develop a project plan and schedule. Decompose the project into manageable chunks of work using a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). Implement risk management. Implement quality assurance. Provide effective Project leadership, outcomes and expectations.  Understand the triple constraints and their impact on quality. Know why projects fail.

 

 WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

 

Anyone who needs to understand and strengthen their project management and earned value management skill sets, knowledge base and competencies. Participants will learn the processes of Project Management Theory; Earned Value Management Theory; and Effective Project Management Application. There will be numerous examples and case studies to strengthen teaching concepts.

Module 1: Introduction to Project Management (PM)

· Explain what a Project is? Describe the objectives of Project Management             

· Why good Project Management is essential to project success.

· Explain the triple constraint

 

Module 2: Project Life Cycle

· Explain the Project life cycle concept

· Describe importance of stakeholders

· Discuss types of organizations

 

Module 3: Project Management Processes

· Initiating, Planning, Monitoring & Controlling, Executing & Closing Processes

 

Module 4: Managing Project Scope

· Discuss scope planning; Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and work decomposition.

· Discuss Scope Creep & Change Control Process

 

Module 5: Managing Project Time

· Discuss the Project Time Management Processes

· Discuss Basic Scheduling Processes and Concepts

 

Module 6: Earned Value Management (EVM) & Project Control

· Discuss the Project Control, Application & Benefits

· Earned Value Management Theory, Concepts, & Analysis

· Earned Value Management Application

 

Module 7: Managing Project Quality

· Discuss the Project Quality Management processes, and importance of quality assurance

 

Module 8: Managing Project Risks

· Discuss Risk in general; Project Risk Management processes,

· Discuss importance of risk planning and risk response
